Beannachtam na Femle Padraig!
(Happy St. Patrick's Day)
Today, on St. Patrick's Day, I am paying tribute to Ireland. I thank her for giving us my grandfather and my husband's great grandfather. My grandpa was a merchant seaman, who at 16 fibbed about his age to become a sailor and later came to the United States. I don't know much about my husband's great grandfather except he was a quiet man with a good sense of humor. Neither one of us were able to know them well, since they died when we were very young.
I'd also like to thank Ireland for Baileys Irish Cream, Irish fairies, Irish music and Irish Dance!
Ireland is rich in literature that understands a soul's yearnings, and dancing that understands a happy heart. ~Margaret Jackson
St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time--a day to begin transforming winter's
dreams into summer's magic. ~Adrienne Cook
The shamrock on an older shore Sprang from a rich and sacred soil. Where saint and hero lived of yore, And where their sons in sorrow toil. ~Maurice Francis Egen
May you always have walls for the winds,a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
daughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire. ~Irish Blessing

Lastly, I leave you with my favorite Irish punk rockers The Dropkick Murphys:

Very nice! I don't have a speck of Irish in me but have always been fascinated by Ireland's beauty and music.
